Dieppe harbour

This rare etching of Dieppe harbour by CRW Nevinson (1889-1946) is dated 1923. Signed in pencil and inscribed with the title, it is one of only a handful of proofs pulled and was first exhibited at Alex Reid and Lefevre Gallery, London 1927. It has a guide of £3000-5000.

Modern British artist Barbara Hepworth (1924-2005) was one of the most important artists of the 20th century. Her artworks sell for several thousands and into the millions. For an affordable alternative is a photo of her. This is an original press photograph take on January 14 1953 and features Hepworth and Sir John Rothenstein standing next to her submission for the sculpture competition at the New Burlington Galleries. The photo is from a private UK collection. It is estimated at £60-80.

This engraving of Kew Gardens from an edition of 40 is by Edward Bawden (1903-89). It is signed, titled and dated in pencil 29.6.27 and is estimated at £500-800.

Mary Fedden's Eggs

Mary Fedden, Eggs from 1984, is estimated at £800-1200.

Celebrated still life painter Mary Fedden (1915-2012) was married to fellow painter Julian Trevelyan (mentioned above). She painted an array of subjects. Eggs from 1984, a signed watercolour on paper, is estimated at £800-1200.

Self Portrait and Minotaur

Artist, writer, printmaker sculptor and designer Michael Ayrton (1921-75), made numerous self portraits. This bronze sculpture (from an edition of 9) is called Self Portrait and Minotaur [Personal Janus], 1970. An image of it features on the back cover of Justine Hopkin's biography of the artist which has recently been revised and re-published. The sculpture is estimated at £6500-9000.
