Forget stocking fillers – it’s handbags that are in demand for Christmas

Here is a selection of five branded handbags at auction from Christian Dior to Louis Vuitton.

1. Christian Dior handbag

This Christian Dior handbag (pictured above) is described as a micro bag with a metallic pink glazed handle and strap and gunmetal and pink chrome tone hardware. It is estimate at £400-600 at Chiswick Auctions' Designer Handbags and Fashion sale on November 30 and includes a detachable strap, authenticity card, dustbag and box.

2. Vintage Gucci bag

A vintage 1970s Gucci red leather bag estimated at £80-120 at Thimbleby & Shorland on November 28.

3. Louis Vuitton drawstring bag

A Louis Vuitton canvas Noe drawstring bag estimated at £200-300 at Sworders on December 2.

This Louis Vuitton monogrammed canvas Noe drawstring bag comes with a dust bag and is estimated at £200-300 at Sworders' Jewellery and Gifts auction on December 2.

4. Mulberry bag and purse

A Mulberry black leather bag and purse, estimated at £400-600, at Lyon & Turnbull on December 7-8.

5. Vintage Hermès handbag

This small vintage crocodile skin Hermès handbag in black is estimated at €800-1200 at Maison Jules Veilinghuis' Fine Arts & Antiques sale on November 27-28.
