Five stylish examples of Art Deco offered on thesaleroom.com estimated at under £100010 December 2019 Art Deco was a stylistic movement that came to the fore in the 1920s. The main focus was furniture, jewellery, decorative arts and architecture.
Its name comes from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, an exhibition held in Paris in 1925 where items with the trademark design of sleek shapes with bold outlines and strong colours were first shown to the world.
Today, Art Deco objects are still regarded as sophisticated, refined and visually interesting – and plenty of examples of the style in an array of different forms are available at auctions on thesaleroom.com.
Here are five upcoming items that caught our eye.
