Christmas is upon us, the season of giving, so why not gift in grand style this year by doling out some prime pieces of jewellery and watches.
Among the highlights at Bonhams’ watches sale of December 14 is this 18ct gold Rolex Daytona Beach wristwatch from 2001. It is one of the four colourful variants of the Cosmograph Daytona and this particular version is in yellow mother of pearl – the lizard strap matching the dial. Offered with an estimate of £40,000-60,000 it goes under the hammer on December 14.

This pair of long earrings with movement in 18ct white gold are offered in Setdart Subastas’ auction of December 14 in Barcelona. The long earrings, which are estimated at €4200-4400 have and a distinctive winged design.
Offered with its original box and paper, this Rolex Explorer from 2003 has never been worn. It features a black dial and goes under the hammer at Goldfield in Weiswampach on December 17 with an estimate of €12,000-15,000.
Dating to the early 19th century this garnet parure features foil-backed stones in flower had and leaf motifs. It comprises a necklace, pendant and pair of pendant earrings and is offered with a fitted case. It goes under the hammer at Elstob & Elstob in Ripon on December 16 and has an estimate of £6000-8000.
This antique 15ct gold brooch set with a diamond goes under the hammer at Gerrards Auction Rooms’ sale which runs from December 20-21. Perfect for a little last-minute shopping if you’re in or around Lancashire, it has an estimate of £300-500.
