This job application, hand-written by Steve Jobs, dates from 1973 and will be offered for sale by Charterfields on February 24.

Certified as authentic

Accompanied by certificates of authenticity, this is a unique piece of tech memorabilia. On the application, Jobs - who would have been 18 at the time - lists 'english lit' as his major, and Reed College as his address.

A letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA Authentication Services

PSA/DNA Authentication Services has examined the job application and has deemed it authentic.

He states that skills are 'Computer' and 'Calculator', along with 'Design' and 'Tech' and says that he his special abilities include 'Electronics' and digital 'Tech or Design Engineer'.

The role Jobs was applying for and the company he was applying to remain a mystery. The following year he did take up a role at computer games company Atari.

Beckett Authentication Services has deemed the document to be genuine.
