We are open for collections Monday to Friday 9-5pm, due to the lockdown issues please advise when you will be collecting so we can have the items put in a socially distanced location for collection. 

 

Important Information

Lots 1-208 are from the Graham Cutts Treen Collection.

Please note the sale is a closed door sale, no members of the public are allowed entry on saleday, all bids to be placed either online, by telephone or as commission bids prior to the saleday where possible. At present there are no viewing days planned for this sale due to the C-19 virus lockdown in place. Should this be lifted prior to the sale date we will impliment an appointment system as previously used. All questions via email will be repsonded to in a timely manner prior to the sale date. 

We endeavour to help with the posting of smaller items where possible. Larger items are available for collection with some notice given, and a list of carriers are available on our website for those futher afield. 

All items should be paid for promptly after the sale via BACS, credit or debit card, cheque. No cash payments accepted at this time. Any items paid for by cheque will be subject to a delay whilst the cheque clears.  Due to the the sale date moving we ask that all invoices are settled within 5 days of the sale date where possible, to allow us to pay vendors promptly.

Important Information for Buyers

If you are new to Wilkinson's please read the following information and condition of sale. If you are unsure or need any assistance please ask and we will be happy to advise.

Buyer's Premium

A buyer's premium is payable of 20% of the hammer price of each lot purchased

(VAT at the appropriate rate is charged on the premium)

Please Note Lots purchased online with ATG media will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 5% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed

 

In completing the bidder registration on www.the-saleroom.com and providing your credit card details and unless alternative arrangements are agreed with Wilkinson's Auctioneers Ltd. you

 

(i) authorise Wilkinson's Auctioneers Ltd., if they so wish, to charge the credit card given in part or full payment, including all fees, for items successfully purchased in the sale via the-saleroom.com, and

 

(ii) confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to Wilkinson's Auctioneers Ltd. through www.the-saleroom.com and agree that Wilkinson's Auctioneers Ltd. are entitled to ship the goods to the card holder name and cardholder address provided in fulfilment of the sale.

 

 

 

V.A.T.

Unless indicated, no VAT will be payable on the hammer price and the premium will be shown inclusive of VAT.

(The VAT inclusive with the premium is not normally recoverable by the buyer.)

However, occasionally VAT is charged on the hammer price at the appropriate rate. In these cases the lots will be indicated in the catalogue and announced by the auctioneer.

 

Bidding

Buyers must register before the sale at the office for a bidding number. The highest bidder is the buyer. In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer will determine the buyer, or at his discretion re-offer the lot. All lots become the responsibility of the buyer at the fall of the hammer. All lots should be paid for within seven days of the sale.

 

Commission and Telephone Bids

If you are unable to attend the sale the auctioneers will be happy to execute commission bids. Buyers can complete a commission bid form online. Forms are also available from the office and may be sent by post, fax and telephone. Any buyer wishing to bid by telephone during the sale must make prior arrangement as telephone lines are limited. The auctioneers do not accept any responsibility for any errors or omissions arising from commission or telephone bids.

 

Methods of Payment

BACS or direct wire transfers are preferred. Our bank details are at the bottom of each invoice. 

Paying by Debit or Credit Cards.

Payments can be made by Switch, MasterCard and Visa Cards. (There is no surcharge, however some cards are not accepted, please check with the office).

Paying by Cheque.

All cheques should be payable to "Wilkinson's" for the total amount due. Cheques for large amounts will be cleared before goods are released unless prior arrangements have been made with the auctioneer.

 

Condition Reports

Wilkinson's are pleased to give verbal condition reports, which are meant as a guide only. Buyers are reminded that they should view before the sale to satisfy themselves as to the condition, any restoration, damage, origin, date, age, authorship, attribution and provenance.

Any statement made by the Auctioneer from the rostrum before accepting any bids shall be deemed to supersede any conditions, notices, descriptions and statements made in the catalogue or elsewhere.

Wilkinson's endeavour to catalogue all lots correctly, however should any lot prove to be a deliberate forgery, the auctioneers upon receipt of a written notice of such within seven days of the sale, shall rescind the sale, provided that the lot is returned within fourteen days of the sale in the same condition as at the time of sale. The benefit of this guarantee shall not be assignable. By making a bid, each buyer conditions, the damages recoverable by the vendor or the auctioneers from the defaulters shall include any loss incurred on sale, together with commission and expenses in respect of both sales.

 

Electrical Goods

It is essential that lots which were originally operated by mains electricity be checked by a qualified electrician before use. They may not comply with the current statutory requirements and as such are offered for solely for display of historical purpose.

 

General

Wilkinson's is situated in the centre of Doncaster near the market and is close to Doncaster's main line station (regular from King's Cross, London). Doncaster is served by M1, M18, M180 and A1(M) motorways.

 

Deliveries

Deliveries can be arranged by approved carriers, at the best available rates.
