AN INDIAN DAGGER (KATAR), 18TH CENTURY with sharply tapering blade formed with a reinforced tip, converging fullers divided by a central rib rising from a chiselled and gilt flower at the forte on each face all against a watered ground, russet iron hilt decorated with silver and gilt sprays of foliage on the side bars and the grip, the latter formed of two moulded bars with a pierced design of exotic gilt birds between, in its fabric-covered wooden scabbard with iron chape decorated en suite (the gold and silver with losses) 25.5 cm; 10 in blade
