The saleroom.com is an intermediary bidding service and is not an infallible system. Any autobids matching the auctioneers commission bid / room bid will be decided in favour of the commission bid / room bid. Bids after the gavel will not be accepted. The auctioneers decision is final.

The catalogue descriptions DO NOT include condition reports. If you would like to enquire about an items condition then please contact enquiries@pbauctioneers.co.uk

Different methods of bidding 

Our auctions can no longer be publically attended. Bidding can be done online on our website, with Easylive Auction or The Saleroom. You can leave commission bids or book telephone bids as normal.

Viewing strictly by appointment Friday prior to each sale 9am until 5pm no admittance will be granted without an appointment. Please be aware we are more than happy to deal with email enquiries and can provide additional images / video calls to help with these requests so that you do not have to come into the saleroom unnecessarily.

Payments for lots can be made by bank transfer, pay by link from your emailed invoice or over the phone by card. We no longer accept cash, cheques or card payment in person.

Contactless collection of your lots is by appointment only at the front entrance. We can provide local contactless delivery to your doorstep. We provide in house post and packing using Parcel Force or you can make your own arrangements with Mailboxes Sheffield or your chosen courier.

Terms & Conditions

Buyers premium 

A buyers premium of 17.5% is payable on the hammer price of each lot purchased. VAT is charged on the premium only. 

Please be aware that in addition to our 17.5% buyers premium lots purchased through the-saleroom.com will be subject to a 4.95% surcharge upon the hammer price. All charges are subject to VAT.

Payment, collecting and postage.

Winning bidders must settle their accounts and clear items from the saleroom within 5 working days of the sale. Postage quotes can be obtained by contacting accounts@pbauctioneers.co.uk, a recommended courier can also be sought from this email address.

Payments may be made at the cashiers office whilst the sale is in progress and after the sale has finished:

1. Debit cards up to £1,000 over the telephone (otherwise bank transfer). There is a £200 limit on credit cards. We do not accept American Express.

2. Bank transfer, contact accounts@pbauctioneers.co.uk

3. We DO NOT accept cheques or cash.

Inspection of lots 

Intending purchasers are in all cases solely responsible for determining the condition of lots prior to bidding, Paul Beighton Auctioneers Ltd do not guarantee that there are no defects or imperfections which have not been referred to in the lot description.

When buying second-hand goods in auction the sale of goods act 1979 does not apply. If however a lot has been catalogued incorrectly your rights remain.

Condition reports 

If you find it difficult to view the sale, there will be a specialist on hand to deal with your queries. We will endeavour to give accurate reports using the naked eye only. Paul Beighton Auctioneers Ltd will not be held accountable for any flaws undetected during this service. Intending buyers must reach their own conclusions regarding condition. 

Electrical goods 

All electrical goods must be checked by a qualified electrician they may not comply with current British safety standards.
