BUYERS’ COMMISSION

20% (24.6% including VAT) is added to the hammer price of all lots.  A further 3.69% will be charged for bidding online with www.the-saleroom.com

VAT applies to these charges but not to the hammer price.

PAYMENT

Payment in person may be made by cash, credit card or debit card – we accept Mastercard or Visa. Remote payment can only be made by Bank Transfer.

CONDITION OF LOTS

Note: The lots in this sale are old artefacts and documents and vary greatly in condition.  They are therefore offered with all faults and buyers are strongly recommended to satisfy themselves as to condition by inspecting them beforehand, viewing is available by appointment.  Please see Terms and conditions.

PURCHASING FROM OUTSIDE IRELAND

It is the bidder’s responsibility to ensure prior to bidding that the item on which they are bidding may be imported into their country. All or any taxes, duties or tariffs payable on importation to the buyer’s country are at the buyer’s responsibility.

FIREARMS

Most firearms offered in this sale are either antiques or deactivated.  Those that are not can only be delivered to persons with a valid firearms licence.

EXPORT LICENCES

May be required for objects of archaeological interest or of national importance sold to buyers outside the State.

IVORY

Certain countries, including the USA, prohibit the importation of ivory including antique worked items.  Such lots may be seized and confiscated by the relevant authorities.

Terms & Conditions

Conditions of Sale

1 Subject to the absolute discretion of the Auctioneer the highest bidder to be the purchaser, the Auctioneer reserving the right to bid on behalf of the Vendors, should he think fit, and if any dispute arises between two or more bidders, the dispute may be settled by the Auctioneer, or the lot so in dispute, may be immediately put up and re-sold.

2 No person shall advance less than ten per cent on the preceding bid. The Auctioneer reserving the right to control the bidding.

3 All intending bidders are requested to register at the office and provide identification in order to collect a bidding paddle before the commencement of the sale.

4 Lots to be taken away and paid for, whether genuine and authentic or not, with all faults and errors of description at the buyers expense and risk, within 2 days from the close of sale; Joe Mullen Associates Limited not being responsible for the correct description, genuineness or authenticity of, or any default or defect in any lot, and making no warranty whatever.

5 If any deficiency shall arise in quantity, or from any cause the Auctioneers shall be unable to deliver any lot, or portion of a lot, then, in such case, the purchaser shall accept compensation for the same to be made in proportion to the Purchase money for the whole lot, or in the alternative the Sale and Purchase of that particular lot may be cancelled by either the Auctioneers or the Purchaser in which case the Purchaser shall not be entitled to compensation of any kind.

6 To prevent inaccuracy in delivery and inconvenience in the settlement of the Purchases, no lot can, on any account, be removed during time of Sale, and the remainder of the Purchase money must absolutely be paid on the delivery.

7 Upon failure to comply with any of the Conditions of Sale the defaulter shall pay any loss arising on any re-sale of the lot, together with the charges and expenses in respect of both sales.

8 Buyers Premium per lot 20% (24.60% gross. Incl. V.A.T) on the first €40,000 of the hammer price and 12 1/2% (15.15% gross incl. V.A.T.) on the amount by which the hammer price exceeds

9 Payment must be either by cash, bank draft, laser, or cheque vouched to the satisfaction of the Auctioneers. Payment can also be made by Visa and Master Card for which there is a 2% charge. Credit card payments will only be accepted up to a maximum amount of €250, above this amount we will require payment in the form of a bank transfer. Credit and Debit cards are only accepted in our office. 


10 Charges for withdrawing lots – Lots withdrawn from sale will be subject to commission of 10% of the Auctioneer’s latest estimate of the auction price of the lot withdrawn together with VAT thereon and any expenses incurred by the Auctioneer in relation to the lot or lots.

ONLINE BIDDING

Mullens offer an online biddine service via the-saleroom.com for bidders who cannot attend the sale.

In complete the bidder registration on www.the-saleroom.com and providing your credit card details and unless alternative arrangements are agreed with Mullens :
1. Authorise Mullen’s if they so wish, to charge the credit card given in part or full payment, including all fess, for items successfully purchased in the auction via the-saleroom.com, and
2. Confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to Mullens through the-saleroom.com and agree that Mullen’s are entitled to ship the goods to the card holder name and card holder address provided in fulfilment of the sale.

Please note that nay lots purchased via the-saleroom.com live auction service will be subject to an additional 3% commision charge + VAT at the rate imposed on the hammer price.
