At YOUR liability, we offer a fully tracked postage & packing service for small items within mainland UK and Europe. We use APC Couriers 24 hour tracked and signed for.  Our standard mainland UK charge is £20 for up to 3 lots, and £2 per lot thereafter, regardless of weight (max.30kg).  Some exclusions apply for larger lots such as dinner services, please contact our offices for a quote with regards to larger or bulkier lots.    

If purchasers require insurance then they must arrange this themselves.  Lacy Scott & Knight accept no liability for items which are damaged or lost during postage, and cannot and will not assist in any claims unless insurance cover has been taken out.  Please give clear instructions when settling your account as to your shipping requirements so that we can process full payment and ship within 10 working days.

You can simply add the postage amount to your bank transfer or website payment.

Please note that Lacy Scott & Knight DO NOT accept any liability for loss or damage, however caused.   For large, high value parcels (over £2,500), fragile items or overseas shipping we STRONGLY RECOMMEND Mail Boxes Etc, tel. 01245 262 527 (email info@mbemail.co.uk ); for larger items such as furniture Alban Shipping, tel.01582 493 099 (email info@albanshipping.co.uk).  If you instruct an alternative courier to collect, this charges at £8 per parcel packed and NO liability is accepted.

VIEWING IS STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY - PLEASE CONTACT OUR OFFICES TO ARRANGE A TIME.

To comply with the strict new anti-money laundering regulations and to protect ourselves from fraud, we have introduced the following security measures.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation. 

Viewers and potential Bidders are required to register and to provide photographic ID (driving licence/passport) before entering the auction room to view or bid.   Upon registration, you will also be allocated a paddle number to bid; however we encourage remote bidding where possible in light of the current circumstances (please see below).

There will be no viewing without an appointment.

For this auction, the maximum cash or credit/debit card payment in person is £10,000 with supporting photographic ID. Telephone payments cannot exceed £1,000 and the maximum card payment through our website is £5,000; please note that we will not post any items until payment has cleared (three full working days).  Invoices in excess of these amounts must be made via bank transfer.  Buyers not previously known to us paying by cheque will have to wait 8 working days for full bank clearance before items will be released.

In light of the current circumstances, we would like to assure you that we take your and our health and safety seriously.  

Where possible, we would encourage clients to bid remotely and we will facilitate this to the best of our ability. 

To help reduce numbers attending sales we have extended pre-sale viewing times for all sales, and will be offering free live online bidding through our LSKlive bidding portal.   Live bidding is very easy to set up and use, but we are happy to talk you through the process if you are new to this format. 

Clients can also leave commission bids with us or bid live by telephone.  You can also bid via thesaleroom.com, which carries a surcharge of 5% plus VAT.

Condition reports and additional images will also be uploaded to our website on a regular basis and upon request. 

If you would prefer to bid and view in person, we have put measures in place to ensure social distancing within the salerooms and hand sanitisers are available throughout the Auction Centre.
