CRIPPEN DR. H. H.: (1862-1910) American-born Physician, famously murdered his wife in 1910. Rare D.S., with initials H. H. C., one page, 8vo, Marble Arch, London, 31st January 1905, on the printed stationery of the Drouet Institute of which Crippen was Chief of Medical Staff. The holograph document is a prescription for treatment suggested by Crippen, in full, `I. Continue compressed Tablets as before, II. Discontinue Merc Sol. powders, III. Add Special Prescription No.86-One pill three times daily, taken before meals`. Matted in black alongside a small portrait of Crippen and an engraved plaque and framed and glazed in a silver and grey coloured frame to an overall size of 14.5 x 11.5. Extremely rare in this form.
