Alexander Talbot Rice 'After Van Dyke'. 2002, Oil, 36 x 42cm. 'After Van Dyke' demonstrates the technique of the Old Master and it depicts "The Deposition". I painted this under the supervision of Mikhail Divertov, who restored Rembrandt's "Danae" in the Hermitage after it was almost irreparably damaged in 1985. He was head of the Restoration Department at The Repin Academy he taught me many of the secrets of painting. This painting uses a spiral composition which emanating from the hand of Christ in the ratio of the Golden Sector.

Delivery

At the auctioneer’s absolute discretion we will post and pack small, light and unbreakable items.

There is a £10 handling charge for the first item, irrespective of size, each additional lot carries a handling charge of £2. Postage is at cost by Royal Mail - Special Deliver of Parcel Force 48. 

If you would like postage added to your invoice please call or email the office and your invoice will be amended.

We are also happy to work with couriers.

 

Furniture

We do not display furniture for viewing. Photos and condition reports can be provided upon request. Furniture is available for collection Monday - Wednesday 9am - 3pm the week following the sale. If you try to collect outside of these hours your item may not be accessable.

 

Collection by third party

If a third party is to collect the goods on behalf of a buyer, formal written authority and identification will be required before the goods can be released.

 

Overseas Buyers

Payment can only be accepted by Bankers Draft or Money Order in Pounds Stirling.

A rare opportunity to bid  on works of art by the celebrated and sought-after Royal portrait artist Alexander Talbot Rice in support of the military charity Veterans Aid.

Alexander has amongst his patrons HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, His Holiness The Pope and Lady Thatcher. 

The themed works capture the grace and art of the world-famous Mariinsky Ballet.

Five paintings feature in the auction with a further twelve works of art in exhibition and available for purchase.
