An interesting Victorian Masons mallet, with silver presentation plaque dedication as being used by the Duke of Edinburgh in the laying of the foundation stone of the National Opera, on Thames Embankment, designed by Francis H.Fowler, 1876, 8.25ins The National Opera Theatre later became known as The Savoy Theatre and is famous for being the home of the Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas.
