Whilst visiting the saleroom, viewers will be required to adhere to the general Covid-19 and specific saleroom advice:
- Upon entry to the building, all customers must wash/sanitise hands with the sanitiser provided at the entrance. Masks must also be worn, it’s the law.
- Customers should always follow signage and/or staff instruction.
- Playing instruments will be permitted under strict staff supervision. Customers must sanitise hands both before and after playing.
Condition reports are available upon request. You are advised to request these reports prior to bidding if you are unable to view personally. Comments regarding condition are our opinion only and not neccesarily fact. Like any other lot sold at auction, buyers MUST satisfy themselves to originality and condition before placing any kind of bid. (Please see our standard Terms and Conditions of sale)
CITES: Non UK buyers should be aware of any CITES import / export implications before placing a bid and when arranging shipping.
Buyers Premium: 22% + VAT
Lots purchased online with the-saleroom.com will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 4.95% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed.
We are pleased to accept payment by the following methods: debit cards, credit cards (CHIP AND PIN - please see below), cash to a maximum of £9000, Building Society cheque or Bankers Draft.
Cheques will be accepted when supported by a guarantee card up to the limit of the card and at the discretion of the auctioneers, unless arrangements have been made with us prior to the auction. Payment direct to bank is also accepted, please contact the office for details. We do not accept American Express.
CARD PAYMENTS - IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to a recent rise in card fraud we are no longer able to accept payments by credit or debit cards for 'customer not present' transactions at the discretion of the auctioneers. Card payments are still accepted at the saleroom and must be supported by 'chip and pin', under no circumstances will this method be bypassed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please see above for other payment methods.
Release of Goods
Payment and clearance should be made within 7 days after the sale. Goods will not be released until full payment has been received and a paid invoice produced. All funds paid direct to bank will be checked for clearance. For clients arranging courier or third party collection – written instruction must be received from the purchaser; identification will be requested from the courier and vehicle details will be taken, unless known to us. For security purposes our premises are monitored with 24 hour CCTV.
Please be aware of potential shipping costs prior to bidding. Please also do not assume that Gardiner Houlgate offer an in-house packaging and shipping service. We do not. Please find our third party recomendations below. We advise contacting more than one to obtain the most competitve quote.
