Georgian silver vinaigrette the rectangular shaped case with engine turned decoration to the front and back with raised foliate border, opening to reveal the pierced grill, dated Birmingham 1824, makers mark indistinct. The exterior of the vinaigrette is very badly tarnished, and there are some small surface scratches and dints. The foliate decoration around the edge of the lid is rubbed and some of the detail has been lost, but the engine turned decoration is all in good condition still. There are a few small holes in the foliate decoration, but they do not go all the way through to the interior. The hinge works well and lid closes properly. The inside of the vinaigrette is slightly tarnished, and has some scratches and scrapes to the surface. The grill is a little dented, but the decoration is all clear and intact. There are hallmarks to the insides of both the lid and the body of the vinaigrette. The hallmark in the lid is badly rubbed, the one in the body less so. Overall the vinaigrette is in reasonably good condition.
