Commission bids are accepted at the sender's risk and without legal obligation. Bids must be left with the Auctioneer by 4:00pm the day before the sale. Proof of residence, address, bank details and/ or credit / debit card details may be requested.
Commission bids are carried out free of charge and lots with be bought for you as cheaply as is allowed by completing bids or reserves already on our books.
Bids are subject to the Standard Conditions of Sale which are on display in the showroom and available upon request.

Payment is expected within 3 days of the sale and should be made by cash, debit or credit card only if you wish to collect lots immediately. All payments by cheque must clear our bank prior to purchases being collected.
Unless otherwise arranged, all lots must be collected within 3 days of the sale.
Goods left on our premises - whether paid for or not - for more than 3 days after the date of the sale will be charged at £10 + VAT per lot per day unless otherwise arranged. This applied to all types of objects whether big or small.

Estimates and Descriptions
The condition of items is not given in the catalogue. Buyers must satisfy themselves as to the condition of the lots. We attempt to mention major restorations and alternations. The estimated selling price is a guide for the buyer, but is not to be taken as definitive. Dimensions are given height before width. Purchasers are advised to take their own measurements to guard against any unseen catalogue error.

Electrical Goods
Any lot with an electrical fitting must be checked by a qualified electrician before connecting to a mains electrical supply. Essex Auction House cannot be held responsible for any contravention of this condiiton (Electrical lots are sold disabled, as far as is reasonable, to discourage any unchecked use).

Catalogue Conventions
Whilst Essex Auction House make every effort to ensure accuracy in the cataloguing of lots offered for sale, each lot is offered for sale by the vendor with any imperfections or errors of descriptions. Essex Auction House do not accept responsibility as to the authenticity, date, age, period, provence, attribution, or condition of any lot. All statements either printed in the catalogue or made orally regarding the above are statements of opinion only and are not to be taken as implying any warranties or representations of fact by Essex Auction House.

ONLINE BIDDING
Essex Auction House offers an online bidding service via thesaleroom.com for bidders who cannot attend the sale.

SHIPPING POLICY:

Our saleroom team are always on hand to help, whether you are collecting in person or require advice about carriers.

If you attend an auction in person and are successful in your bid, you are free to collect and remove your item there and then once payment has been cleared. If you are not able to do so we are happy to refer you to a number of carriers who will be able to arrange packing and shipping for you. Please contact them directly to receive a quote for costs. You are, of course, very welcome to use an alternative courier.

All lots should be paid for and collected by 5pm on the Thursday following the sale from our Epping auction room - Essex Auction House, 55 High Street, Epping, Essex, CM16 4BA
