Cheng Men, a porcelain artist living in the Late Qing dynasty , painted in the Qianjiang style, which is characterized by applying enamels directly on the white glazed porcelain surface, giving the decoration the appearance of watercolor painting on silk or paper. This style is said to be based on literati painting, and was popular during the Late Qing and early Republican periods.PROVENANCE: Private Collection UK
