Artist: Simon Burton, Title: Untitled, (2014), Medium: Oil on linen, (framed), Dimensions: 46.5 cm x 36.5 cm

Reserve: : €1000.00

Lot description/ information:

Born in Yorkshire in 1973, and described by Lucien Freud in 1997 as, ‘the most promising young artist in Britain today.’ His work is widely collected, both in the UK and abroad. Simon Burton’s figures appear like visions in an unexpected clearing. Mysterious and ancient, they have the air of memories we once knew for fact, but which have long since passed into personal myth. Tapped from English Visionary painting; poetic sensations (that draw on essential questions of human experience), which have congregated on his canvases, as if they have been abandoned by human activity.

Important Information

Info about the charity
Andy Parsons is a well-known artist who lives and works in Co. Sligo. In October 2013, his six year old son, Donal, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma which is a very rare children’s cancer. Donal is currently receiving 18 months of intensive treatment at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin.

The Donal Parsons Trust has been set up to raise money to access any viable treatments to prevent relapse and to pay for treatments if Donal relapses. The Trust may also assist Donal and his family during his treatment. If Donal doesn’t need further treatment all proceeds will go towards fighting Neuroblastoma and to other families in similar circumstances.
