DICKENS, Charles -- A George III silver toddy-ladle, London, maker's mark indistinct, 1792, the bowl later engraved with foliage, with a twisted whalebone handle, under bowl engraved with initial 'R' over 'A.R.', hallmarked under bowl and on handle, length 400mm. In custom-made wood and glass display case with mounted plaque reading: 'Original punch ladle used by Charles Dickens Esq. At the "George and Vulture" Tavern, Cornhill, London. Anno Domini 1849. Presented to John Summers 1952' (case a little damaged).
