A late 19th century French white marble four-glass clock with perpetual calendar and centre seconds Pert Bally Brevete A Paris The white marble and lacquered brass case with front door to the 5 inch enamel dials set into an engraved gilt mask with foliate decoration, the clock dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands to the twin barrelled movement with visible Brocot escapement, large bi metallic Ellicott style pendulum and rack striking on a bell, the calendar dial painted with two figures representing day and night with full perpetual calendar and indication for the equation of time, the movement with a kidney cam for the equation and a countwheel system for the calendar adjustment. Together with a modern winding key and 1 pocket watch key 46cms (18 inches) high Footnotes: Pert Bally Brevete A Paris, a distinguished clock-making firm based at 31 Rue de Montmorency in Paris. Throughout its history, the firm garnered significant recognition at major international expositions. It was awarded Bronze Medals at the Paris Exposition of 1855 and London in 1862, followed by Silver Medals in Paris in 1867, 1878, and 1889. In 1890, the company achieved its highest honour with a Gold Medal at the Paris Exposition. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
