A good and small late 19th century French Petite Sonnerie gorge cased carriage clock. Henri Jacot, No. 5415 the rippled handle over a large bevelled glass inspection panel and repeat button over four bevelled glass panels on a raised base, the rectangular dial with gilt mask and white enamel centre with Roman and Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. the movement with silvered lever platform escapement and cut and compensated bimetallic balance, striking and repeating the hours and quarters on a pair of coiled blued steel gongs (the gong block stamped FD), with two-position selection lever in the base offering 'Quarters' or 'Silence'. Buyers' Premium and Charges

27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
