NAKAOJI MOEI A Black-and-Gold Lacquer Four-Case Inro Edo period (1615-1868), early 19th century The vertical rounded rectangular body with a roiro ground shading to nashiji, lacquered in several shades of gold, silver, and brown togidashi maki-e with a continuous design alluding to the Noh play Takasago, depicting on one side Jo and Uba with their respective attributes of a rake and broom cleaning beneath a pine tree shown on the reverse, the interior of black lacquer; signed on the base in gold hiramaki-e Moei with a seal Moei. 8cm x 6.7cm (3 1/8in x 2 5/8in). Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
