NINE METAL OJIME Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Comprising two of inlaid iron, one tubular inlaid in shibuichi low relief with a sprig of plum, signed Kazutoshi; the second, applied with a sprig of chrysanthemum in silvered-metal relief; the third, of bronze, pierced with a stylised rabbit among foliage; the fourth, an inlaid silver and shakudo compressed bead decorated with a chequered mokume-gane (wood grained metal) and shikishi-mon (coloured-paper pattern) design; the fifth, of bronze applied in low relief with stylised birds and butterflies; the sixth, of inlaid shakudo in the form of a bamboo node decorated in high relief of bronze and shakudo with a snail and foliage; the seventh, of shibuichi and decorated in high relief of bronze, silver and shakudo with a stylised bird and butterflies; the eighth, of bronze decorated with flowers applied in gilt relief floating on a river; the ninth, of silver and gilt, in the form of Benkei and the bell of Miidera, the warrior monk shown leaning forward and putting all his force behind the large bell, one hand grasping the handle, the other resting on the other side, in an attempt to lift it; unsigned. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
