Description
A 20-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol Indistinctly Signed, Late 17th Century With slightly swamped three-stage sighted barrel, the breech with three raised mouldings, two overlaid in silver, tang lightly engraved with foliage, border engraved rounded lock (tail and steel chipped) with faint traces of signature, moulded highly figured rootwood full stock (fore-end partly replaced), iron mounts comprising side-plate pierced and chiselled with scrolling foliage, vacant escutcheon en suite, spurred pommel retaining traces of engraved symmetrical foliage on one side and with grotesque mask cap, trigger-guard with foliate finial, baluster ramrod-pipes (forward one replaced), and later steel-capped wooden ramrod (iron parts with old wear and some pitting), London proof marks 31.8 cm. barrel For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
