We offer a delivery service which is subsidised by the auction house so we can offer a cheap reliable service to our customers. From our auction house prices for this service start at £10 for small item, larger items would have to be collected or courier arranged.

Terms and conditions for the Buyers

All bidders are required to be registered with the auction house before bids are made, a paddle number will be allocated to you and this number will be noted by the auctioneer as the hammer goes down.

Buyer’s commission is set 15% of the hammer price + VAT.

All items must be picked up or postage arranged by 4pm the Thursday following the auction. We will be enforcing a storage charge that must be paid before the is collected after the allocated time and date. If the item is not collected or has not been arranged to be collected, we will hold the item/s for 28 days after the sale. After this date the item/s will become property of Bolton Auction Rooms Ltd, no refunds or compensation will be given for lost monies

Commissioned bids can be left on any day on any item providing the buyer is a registered buyer with the auction house. If the client is not registered, a deposit will be required before the bids are accepted.

Phone bids – At the moment we cannot accept phone bids for a general auction, we can except phone bids for specialist auctions only. If the client is not registered, a deposit will be required before the bids are accepted

We have an online auction facility which can be viewed on any computer connected to the internet and bids can be placed online live as the auction is running, you must be registered with the auction house prior to biding.

Everything in the General auctions are sold as seen. We only give a brief description, we give no guarantees or authentication of any items in the general auction unless we have given a written condition report that is inaccurate (Only) noticeable faults will be mentioned.

We offer a delivery service which is subsidised by the auction house so we can offer a cheap reliable service to our customers. From our auction house prices for this service start at £6.25 for small item in the UK and range in increments depending on distance from the auction house and size of the item. Once the item has left our building it is no longer our responsibility, we can provide a tracking number and all disputes must be taken up with the currier yourself. Glass, ceramics or anything breakable cannot be insured, we wrap everything extremely well, we hold no responsibility for damage.

No item is the property of the buyer until payment has been made in full nor shall it be removed from the auction house until the item has been presented to the buyer by one of the porters on duty.

If the buyer is unsure of the authenticity of a item, they have 10 days to return the item/s to us. After this time we cannot be held responsible.
Bolton auction rooms has the final say on whether it is the same item that was entered into the sale and is no way bound to proceed with any action until it is satisfied that it is, it is advisable any paraphernalia relating to the item is obtained to help with this process, any cost incurred to find the authenticity lie with the owner of the item until proof of a forgery has been obtained, then a refund of the hammer price + VAT and any cost incurred to find its authenticity will be refunded within 21 days.

The auctioneer can refuse to take a bid off anyone if he has good reason to believe the person will not follow the terms and conditions set above or if the bidder is a former non payer. This will be executed without prejudice and the auctioneer’s decision is final.

All lots bought on the-saleroom.com – If we do not hear from you before Tuesday 12pm for payment we will try to take the payments directly from the registered card. We send winners notification and payments requests immediately after the auction closes.
