Lot No: 4 - Ref No: 032 Robotter By Sue Guthrie Summer Holiday Home: Next to The Works, Newton Abbot "This is the second time that I have painted a Moor Otter. I wasn't sure what to paint onto the otter this year and so I asked my daughter, Sophie, if she had any ideas. She really is an ideas person and came back with a long list of 'spare' ideas. When I saw Robotter I became excited by the concept. As well as enjoying the play on words, I could really visualise how the otters might look. I wanted them to be reminiscent of the traditional tin plate toys of the 1950s. I used iridescent medium mixed into the paint to give it a metallic feel and then spent what felt like forever painting tiny rivets around each section! It is fantastic to be given the opportunity to support such a wonderful cause and I hope that the trail is a huge success." This Otter is a 'Golden Otter' - one that has been specially selected by a panel of expert judges as being particularly stunning. Of the 81 Moor Otters there are only 25 Golden Otters. These Golden Otters will take their online bids to the live auction on Saturday, 2nd October 2021 at Bearnes, Hampton & Littlewood, Okehampton St, Exeter. You can continue to bid on these otters at the live auction in person or online.
