A silver repousse pair cased pocket watch, the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, Arabic outer numerals and blued steel 'beetle and poker' hands, the chain fusee movement having Egyptian pillars, a verge escapement with a plain three arm brass balance, a pierced and engraved backcock, a silvered regulation dial and signed 'Wm. Sterck, London, 1775', the plain inner case stamped with the maker's initials 'JH' and hallmarked for London 1765, the outer case having repousse decoration, diameter 45mm. * William Sterck is recorded as working in London from pre-1762 until at least 1790.
