John Cording, London. A silver pocket watch with detent escapement, the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, gold spade hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and signed 'Jno. Cording, London, 432', the chain fusee movement having maintaining power, a spring detent escapement with a split bi-metallic balance, the finely engraved backcock having a diamond endstone, the backplate also signed by the maker, the case having engine turned decoration to the rear and hallmarked for silver, Birmingham 1814, diameter 52mm. * John Cording is recorded as working in the Strand, London from before 1819 until 1839.
