Bamfords do not pack for customers own couriers.

Bamfords can offer postage on items of a small and non-fragile nature, our minimum charge is £25.00 for Royal Mail Special Delivery service. Please be aware that we cannot offer packing or postage of jewellery, weapons, ceramics or paintings & pictures and we do not offer postage internationally. We can recommend our local Mailboxes or Chartwells for packing and posting services on items we cannot to send.  For furniture and larger items we have a list of recommended carriers including Alban Shipping - Reception can be contacted for details on 01332 210000 or 01629 730920

Buyers Premium is 24.75% + VAT 

Lots purchased online with the-saleroom.com will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 5.5% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed

PAYMENT WILL BE COLLECTED FROM THE CARD USED FOR REGISTRATION WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE PURCHASE.

Please collect items purchased within 48 hours. No in house postage service on fragile items, please contact the auctioneer before purchasing the item in regards to the cost of postage

Please note that we require proof of ID prior to payment and collection.  Please email photocopies to fineart@bamfords-auctions.co.uk of either a valid drivers licence or Passport and a utility bill.  The ID must match the details registered with us for your purchase.  You will only be required to do this once and then a note will be held on your account showing that we have had those details from you.

Terms & Conditions

18 - Buyers Premium


The purchaser shall pay the hammer price together with a premium of 24.75% of the hammer price for the all Sales. The amount invoiced will be premium plus VAT (where VAT is chargeable) but this VAT will not normally be recoverable by the buyer. The vendor authorises the Auctioneer to deduct commission and expenses at the stated rates from the hammer price and acknowledges the Auctioneer’s right to retain the premium payable by the purchaser.

All items must be collected within one week of purchase, failure to collect the lot will result in storage charges being applied at a rate of £5 per lot per day + VAT.  Once the storage fees exceed the value of the item purchased, all buyers rights are waived and Bamfords reserve the right to sell the item to recover storage charges incurred


Any lot purchased through the services of ATG Media will be subject to a further charge of 5.5% of the hammer price (plus VAT where chargeable)
