5. Description and Inspection of the Lots
We are dependent on information provided by the seller about a lot. The colours printed in the catalogue are not necessarily a true reflection of the actual item. All weights and measures given in the catalogue should be regarded as approximate. We recommend that you always view a lot in person. You must inspect and investigate lots that you might wish to bid for. Please kindly contact for a viewing.
We inspect lots and act reasonably in taking a general view about them, however, it would be wise for a buyer to carry out a detailed examination in order to ascertain their opinions. Intending buyers have ample opportunity for inspection of goods and, therefore, accept responsibility for inspecting and investigating lots in which they may be interested, and the corresponding risk should they not do so.
When you bid in the auction, there is no right of return, unless an item is materially different to its catalogue description. Please note carefully the exclusion of liability for the condition of lots; neither the seller nor we, as the auctioneers, accept any responsibility after the inspection.
However, in so far as we have examined the goods and make a representation about their condition in the auction catalogue, we shall be liable for any defect which is not reflected in that representation. In specified circumstances lots misdescribed because they are ‘deliberate forgeries’ may be returned to us within 14 days of the sale, and repayment made.
6. Payment
It is of critical importance that you ensure that you have readily available funds to pay the Purchase Price and the Buyer's Premium (plus VAT and any other charges and Expenses to us) in full before making a bid for the Lot.
