Poems of Emily Dickinson selected and edited with a commentary by Louis Untermeyer. New York: Limited Editions Club, 1952. Octavo (10 ¾ x 6 ¾ inches; 273 x 172mm). Pp. [v-]xi-xxviii; [1-]2-286, [i-ii]. Printed in brown and black throughout. Illustrations after pen-and-ink drawings by Helen Sewell. Extra-illustrated with the loosely inserted relevant prospectus leaf and the L.E.C. Monthly Letter. Original black morocco-grained sheep, upper cover and spine lettered in gilt, glassine wrapper, decorative paper-covered slipcase, paper label to ‘spine’ of slipcase. Condition: contents excellent, binding with light scuffing to head and foot of spine, glassine toned, slipcase very slightly discoloured (see images). Provenance: Laura Lowy


Dickinson’s genius presented in a truly appropriate form: a limited edition of 1500 copies signed by Helen Sewell, this copy numbered 743. A beautiful production.
