London:  Cassell & Company, 1886. Octavo (7 ¼ x 4 7/8 inches; 184 x 124mm). Pp. [i-viii; 1-]2-311, [i]. Half-title. Folding 3-colour map. 1p. of adverts. at end.  Contemporary light brown calf by Zaehnsdorf (for John Wanamaker), gilt tooling, three spine labels lettered or numbered in gilt,  gilt turn-ins, top edge of book-block gilded.


Condition: small neat repairs to map, bound without the separate advertisement leaves; binding with joints and extremities very lightly rubbed [see images]


First Edition in a Zaehnsdorf binding, first issue with p.40. line 11, with ‘business’ rather than ‘pleasure’; p.104 with ‘nine o’clock’; p.101 with ‘Lone Islands’
