Set of two original vintage advertising poster for La Veuve Joyeuse / The Merry Widow operetta in three acts after Henri Meilhac's 1861 comic play. 1. The poster features a bright illustration of an elegantly dressed couple, a gentleman in a tuxedo with a rose at the lapel, and a lady in a long flowing black shiny dress, stylised lettering set over orange background. The original operetta was composed by Franz Lehar and librettists Viktor Leon and Leo Stein first performed in 1905 in Vienna and reached international success since then. Large size. Good condition, creasing, tears on bottom edge. Country of issue: France, designer: O'Kley (Pierre Gilardeau), size (cm): 150x98, year of printing: 1962.; 2. The poster features stylised lettering in red, white and yellow set over black background. The original operetta was composed by Franz Lehar and librettists Viktor Leon and Leo Stein first performed in 1905 in Vienna and reached international success since then. Large size. Good condition, creasing, tears, small paper losses. Country of issue: France, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 150x91, year of printing: 1962.
