Original vintage travel poster inviting the reader to visit Sudan - Welcome to the Sudan. A country of a glorious history. The picture in the poster most likely references Coptic art and features a portrait of a lady iwith a golden patterned arch of red brick over white background. Designed by Abdul Wahab Fadlalla. Published by Sudanese Tourist Corporation. Printed by Government Printing Press. Christianity has a long history in the region that is now Sudan and South Sudan. Ancient Nubia was reached by Coptic Christianity by the 2nd century. The Coptic Church was later influenced by Greek Christianity, particularly during the Byzantine era. From the 7th century, the Christian Nubian kingdoms were threatened by the Islamic expansion, but the southernmost of these kingdoms, Alodia, survived until 1504. Very good condition, creasing, staining. Country of issue: Sudan, designer: Abdul Wahab Fadlalla, size (cm): 80x58.5, year of printing: 1972

We offer worldwide shipping, payment on collection is possible. International Deliveries: please note that any local taxes and duties are country specific, and may be applied by the authorities on arrival in your destination country (including the EU). The postal service will notify you directly if any charges are due and, as the recipient of the shipment, you will be liable to pay these charges before your package is delivered.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes.  We use Royal Mail special delivery with insurance for postage in the UK and signed and tracked service where available with a maximum insurance of £250 for international shipments. Over-sized posters (over 80cm) are shipped by UPS.  

We aim to dispatch items within 1-3 working days, delivery to UK addresses usually takes 2-3 working days. Delivery to international addresses varies depending on destination and usually takes 7-10 working days.

Payment is required within 7 days after auction. Payment in Pounds (GBP) is possible on collection in London and Moscow (by special arrangement).
