Original vintage motor sport event poster published in Italian by Porsche to celebrate the victory of its racing car team in their famous come-from-behind race win led by the English driver Vic Elford "Quick Vic" (Victor Henry Elford, b 1935) and the Italian driver Umberto Maglioli (1928-1999) in a Porsche 907 at the open road Targa Florio endurance automobile race in 1968 held in the mountains of Sicily (1906-1977). Striking design featuring a black and white photograph of the smiling race winner Elford taken just after his victory in front of his Porsche team with the text in the green, white and red colours of the Italian flag and the winners of the sport category listed: Baron Wendt Kauhsen in a Porsche 906 and the Gran Turismo category listed below: Greub in a Porsche 911S / Shell Dunlop Porsche. Printed in Germany by Ing. h. c. F. Porsche KG. Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Very good condition, minor restored tears on margins, backed on linen. The Porsche 907 was a sportscar racing prototype built by Porsche in 1967 and 1968. The Porsche 906 or Carrera 6 is a street-legal racing car from Porsche. It was announced in January 1966 and 50 examples were subsequently produced, thus meeting the homologation requirements of the FIA's new Group 4 Sports Car category to the letter. The type would also compete in modified form in the Group 6 Sports Prototype class. The original Porsche 911 is a luxury sports car made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. The famous, distinctive, and durable design was introduced in autumn 1963 and built through 1989. It was succeeded by a modified version, internally referred to as Porsche 964 but still sold as Porsche 911, as are current models. Mechanically, the 911 was notable for being rear engined and air-cooled. From its inception, the 911 was modified both by private teams and the factory itself for racing, rallying and other types of automotive competition. The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included, mainly the powerful 911 derived 935 which won 24 Hours of Le Mans and other major sports cars races outright against prototypes. Country: Germany, year of printing: 1968, designer: Strenger, size (cm): 118.5x85
