Original vintage World War Two road safety poster by the notable British cartoonist and illustrator, Fougasse (Cyril Kenneth Bird; 1887-1965), issued in support of the Ministry of War Transport's Road Safety Campaign by the Tilling Group of Companies (the largest bus operator in the UK until the bus services were nationalised in 1948). "Although your bus fare might have gone up, it hasn't - so what about investing the amount it hasn't gone up in War Savings Certificates?" Text between two images of green buses, the front of the bus above smiling with a halo and the back of the bus below with a sign Lend To Defend on it.
