Lionel Ellis ARCA (1903-1988) was an important twentieth-century painter, illustrator, engraver and teacher who specialised in portraits, as well as equestrian and floral subjects. He taught at Wimbledon School of Art between 1937 and 1968 and lived in Headley, Surrey. The pictures offered here were formerly in the collection of his partner, fellow artist Barbara Shaw.
