Sales by 2-Day/2-Location Timed On-Line Auction on Behalf of the Directors of Smith of Derby Group Ltd.

Introduction: It is inevitable that old firms accumulate large quantities of items which are no longer required. It was therefore decided by the Directors of the original family owned holding company, Smith of Derby Group Ltd., that such items from our 3 active principle trading companies, John Smith of Derby (est’d. 1856); J.B. Joyce and Co of Whitchurch, Shropshire (est’d. 1690) and Wm. Potts & Sons of Leeds (est’d. 1835) trading collectively as Smith of Derby Ltd., should be auctioned. It is hoped that buyers will gain use and pleasure from their acquisitions.

Viewing: The viewing of lots 1-582 will be at JB Joyce & Co, Station Rd, Whitchurch, Shropshire SY13 1RD, Saturday 17th November, 0930hrs– 630hrs (GMT).

The viewing of lots 600-end will be at Smith of Derby Ltd, 112 Alfreton Rd, Derby DE21 4AU, Friday 16th November, 0930hrs-1630 hrs (GMT).

Car Parking: There is limited parking at Derby, but no on-site parking at Whitchurch; some roadside parking is available at both locations.

Damage: Person’s attending the viewing will be held liable for any damage they cause, & shall meet all costs & expenses incurred in the rectification of the damage so caused, as advised by WH&C.

Bidding Process: Day 1 (JB Joyce only; Lots 1-461) starts to close from 11.00hrs (GMT) on Wednesday 28th November (Subject to staggered timings & 10 min extensions).

Day 2 (JB Joyce and Smith of Derby; Lots 462-end) starts to close from 11.00hrs (GMT) on Thursday 29th November (Subject to staggered timings &10 min extensions).
