ENGLISH SILVER ‘WARWICK’ VASE, EDWARD BARNARD & SONS, LONDON, 1911 with entwined vine handles, moulded with lion skins, Bacchanalian heads, a lituus and thyrsi below a border of fruiting vines, the rim and stem with tongue and dart and bead borders, on a plain square base with engraved presentation inscription, height 10.7" — 27.3 cm., 119.4 oz. — 3714 grams Note: Inscription reads: Presented to / George Washington Stephens Esquire / Chairman of the Harbour Commissioners of Montreal / from 1907 to 1912 / by representatives of / The Trade Organizations of the City / in recognition of the invaluable services rendered by him to the Port during his term of office. / “Si monumentum requiris circumspice portum”
