Ingo Maurer (b. 1932) for Ingo Maurer GmbH, Birdie light fixture. with Lucellino sconces, pair (not shown), Germany, c.2002, metal, plastic, 12 low-voltage glass light bulbs, goose-feather wings, with original instructions and 4 extra bulbs, 30"dia x 36"h
All of the feathers are intact. There is some pitting and rust spots to the metal wires that extend to the bulbs. There are signs of age, including some accumulated dirt and dust to the feathers. There are small spots of rust and pitting to the top discs. We have tested the wiring of the chandelier, and it works; consult an electrician about installation. We have not tested the wiring of the sconces. The lot includes two extra 10W halogen bulbs marked "birds birds birds" and two 50W "Lucellino" bulbs in boxes. An instruction booklet and "Touch Tronic" transformer are included; we have not tested these supplemental bulbs and parts.
