This collection comprises works from the world-famous glass workshops located on the Venetian island of Murano, Italy. Designers represented include: Carlo Moretti, Lino Tagliapietra, Michele Burato, Timo Sarpaneva and Livio Seguso, amongst others. Many pieces were made in conjunction with the prestigious firm of Venini, founded in 1925, with other items from Effetre International, where Lino Tagliapietra was Artistic Director from 1976 to 1989.
The collection was formerly owned by Lord Alistair McAlpine, the enthusiastic and eclectic collector who travelled extensively in the pursuit of rare and fascinating artefacts.
Estimates start from £50, making this a fantastic opportunity for those purchasing their first piece as well as those looking to add to an existing glass collection.
