Victor Ehikhamenor is a multi-talented visual artist, photographer, poet and writer. He was born in 1970 in Udomi-Uwessan, Edo State, Nigeria. He graduated from Bendel State University, Ekpoma (now Ambrose Alli University) with a BA degree in English and Literary Studies. He also holds an MS in Technology Management from the University of Maryland, University College, Adelphi and in 2006 the department of English at the University Of Maryland, College Park awarded him a fellowship/scholarship to pursue a Masters of Fine Art in Creative Writing, which he completed in 2008.
The multi-talented Ehikhamenor who is both a writer, photographer and painter has been prolific in producing semi-abstract, symbolic works with unmistakable ties to his Nigerian background drawing his influences from traditional African motifs and religious cosmology. He has had numerous exhibitions with strong followings in Nigeria, United States and parts of Europe.
Ehikhamenor has published a growing body of works of fiction and essays with academic journals, mainstream magazines and newspapers such as The New York Times, CNN, Washington Post and many others. His art and photography have been used as book covers by award winning authors like Chimanmada Adichie, Helon Habila, Chika Unigwe, Unomah Azuah, Tony Kan and others. In July 2007, the American Embassy in Abuja hosted him as part of their Independence Day celebration exhibition titled Celebrating Heritage. And in 2008 he won the prestigious Breadloaf Writer`s Conference scholarship in United States which he turned down to become the pioneer creative director for NEXT newspaper in Lagos. Until recently he was the CEO/Editor-in-chief of Daily Times Nigeria.
His new creative non-fiction book, EXCUSE ME! has been well received and is a set text for two major universities in Nigeria.
