Condition Reports:
Due to the overwhelming level of business we are receiving via the web sites, we are no longer able to provide condition reports for lots estimated below £50.
We do not provide any condition reports on sale day
Shipping:
The responsibility for the collection of purchase(s) rest with the buyer; however we do offer a small postage and packing service.
PLEASE NOTE THAT TAMLYNS DO NOT OFFER A FULL POSTAGE AND PACKING SERVICE.
We are only able to post smaller; lighter items. These items will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery (whose maximum insurance value is £2,500).
After a sale we are inundated with requests for packing. We will deal with these as quickly as we can but please be patient if you experience a delay.
For larger items such a furniture we require you to organise your own courier. If you instruct your courier to collect direct from Tamlyns; please note the item will not be packaged. Once the item has left the premises we no longer take responsibility for the safety of the item.
For delicate, items with glass or items being shipped abroad we use Mail Box Etc who provide a packing, courier and shipping service. Their nearest office to Tamlyns is in Taunton (01823 322263) or go to their website www.mbe.uk.com.
PLEASE NOTE INTERNATIONAL ITEMS WILL BE SENT VIA MAILBOXES.
Tamlyns reserves the right to refuse to pack and post any item (or items) which are deemed to be unsuitable for Royal Mail Special Delivery.
LOTS WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL THE ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SETTLED IN FULL.
Terms and Conditions
CONDITIONS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder is the buyer. In the event of any dispute, the Auctioneer will determine the buyer, or at his discretion re-offer the lot.
2. The catalogue descriptions are believed to be correct, but all buyers must satisfy themselves of the authenticity and condition of the lots.
3. The auctioneers reserve the right to refuse any bid or to refuse entry to their premises.
4. All lots become the responsibility of the buyer at the fall of the hammer.
5. All lots must be paid for in full, before they are removed from the saleroom.
6. Payment should be made by banker’s draft, cash or card. If payment is made by cheque the goods will only be released when the cheque has been cleared. Credit card payments will incur a charge of 2%.
7. All lots should be removed from the saleroom within three days of the sale. Unless arrangements have been made with the auctioneer, there will be a charge of £5 per lot per day for any uncollected lots.
8. Every purchaser shall be deemed to act as a principal unless the auctioneers have, in writing, prior to sale a statement from the purchaser that he is acting as an agent of a named principal.
9. Any statement made by the Auctioneer from the rostrum before accepting any bid shall be deemed to supersede any conditions notices, descriptions and statements made in the catalogue or elsewhere.
10. By making a bid, each buyer acknowledges he or she is aware of the conditions of sale. In the event of failure to comply with the conditions, the damages recoverable by the vendor or the Auctioneers from the defaulter shall include any loss incurred on resale, together with commission and expenses in respect of both sales.
11. A Buyers Premium of 18% plus VAT at the standard rate will be added to the hammer price of all lots.

Tamlyns no longer undertake this service and will not package items for couriers. We are pleased to recommend Mailboxes of Taunton and should you require this service, let us know when you pay and we will take your items to them free of charge.
Items can not be removed until payment has been cleared.
