For all condition reports and additional images they must be requested no later than 4.30pm day prior to the sale.

All items purchased via the internet, must be paid for within 5 working days.

Lots purchased online with the-saleroom.com will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 3% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed

ALL ITEMS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE SALE ROOM BY 4PM ON THE MONDAY AFTER THE SALE OTHERWISE THE ITEMS WILL BE PUT INTO STORAGE AND A CHARGE OF £2 PER LOT, PER WEEK TOGETHER WITH A £10 HANDLING CHARGE WILL BE LEVIED (MINIMUM OF 1 WEEK CHARGED)

All items purchased via the internet once invoice produced payment to be made within 5 working days otherwise the invoice will be cancelled and the items will be re-auctioned at a later date

Seller's conditions of sale
Terms for the Seller
I. With the exception of viewing and sale days, articles will be received at the auction room during normal working hours, Monday to Friday for inclusion in forthcoming sales
II. Rye Auction Galleries Ltd will be please to arrange to collect goods for the sale room at an appropriate cost to be settled by the vendor prior to collection, unless alternative arrangements are in place.
III. Rye Auction Galleries Ltd reserve the right to refuse acceptance of goods, to decline to offer and goods by auction and to withdraw and lot before or at any point during the sale.
IV. Rye Auction Galleries Ltd accept no responsibility for damage caused by fire, water, weather, military, conflict, theft, burglary, or act of God for goods held by them on behalf of the owners. All goods are accepted into the sale room at owner’s risk.
V. It is in the seller’s interest that goods submitted to sale should be in the cleanest condition as possible, we reserve the right to clean goods if necessary and to charge for the cost involved.
VI. Rye Auction Galleries Ltd reserves the right to lot items as they think desirable and include articles such as sundries, contents and etcetera’s. No responsibility is accepted for incorrect description or error in the lotting of goods.
VII. The commission charges are set out below and will be levied appropriately for each entered lot:
Items realising between £301 - £999 per lot – commission at 15% plus Vat
Items realising over £1000 per lot – commission charged at 12.5%
Handling charge £1 per lot
Items withdrawn from auction after submission to the saleroom will incur a charge of 15% of the auctioneer’s estimated value. And this is based on current market prices and including VAT
I. Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder in accordance with and subject to the conditions of sale except where you have indicated a minimum reserve price.
II. Unsold items will be entered into the next available auction when they may be offer and sold without reserve
III. Sold, unsold and withdrawn lots will be charges storage at a rate of £10 Per lot per day commencing on the fourth day after the auction.
IV. All outstanding charges will be deducted from the sale proceeds or must be settled prior to removal from the Auction Room

V. If you cannot attend the sale in person, we will be happy to bid on your behalf. We will buy the lot as cheaply as other bids or reserves permit, up to your maximum stated amount. Bidding forms are available in the salerooms or you can contact us direct on 01797 222650.
Buyers Premium
VI. The purchaser shall pay the bid price together with a buyer’s premium of 15% + VAT, which will be added to your account at the time of payment.
VII. Internet purchaser buyer’s premium will be 18% + VAT, will be added to your account at the time of payment.
VIII. Items that require postage will incur additional charges, in the event that we are unable to dispatch items it is the responsibility of the purchaser to arrange collection
Condition Reports
IX. Catalogue description occasionally refer to damage, absence of such advice does not imply that an item is free from defect. On request we will provide condition reports and digital images free of charge.
Estimates
X. Estimates are given with all catalogue descriptions. They do not necessarily imply the existence of a reserve price and are intended as a guide price in normal sale conditions. Estimates may be subject to revision.
Payments
XI. Purchases must be paid for within 5 days of the sale. Methods of payment are cash, cheque supported by guarantee card, bankers draft, credit card or debit card. Payments made by credit card will be subject to a 2% surcharge.
XII. Items sold via the internet must be paid within 5 days failure to pay will result in the lot becoming unsold and prevention from participating in future sales.
