Die Bücher V.-VII. galten als verloren, bis Borelli eine arabische Handschrift von Abu 'l-Fath al-Isfahani, die auf einer Übersetzung von Thabit ibn Qurra beruht, in der Bibliotheca Medici wiederauffand und neu herausgab. Ein achtes Buch blieb verschollen. - Sehr breitrandiges Exemplar, nur vereinzhelt gering stockfleckig. 3 Bll. mit kleiner schmaler Überklebung außerhalb des Textes. Bl. 18 der Vorstücke mit restauriertem Einriß. First edition of the books V-VII of the Conic Section, till then supposed to have been lost. They contain Apollonius' important discoveries, which earned him a place next to Euclid and Archimedes. - Minor foxing in places, three small paper slips on three leaves, restored tear to last preliminary leaf. A copy with wide margins bound in recent vellum from old material.
