World Leaders British Politician James Bryce Autograph Letter Signed -- ''…to abstain…from discussing a topic of so controversial a nature…It is even more controversial in Britain than it is here…'' 1st Viscount James Bryce autograph letter signed. Dated 25 June 1907, Bryce writes an intriguing letter to ''Ladies' Home Journal'' editor Edward Bok: ''…it seems…more prudent for one occupying an official function to abstain while he holds that position from discussing a topic of so controversial a nature…James Bryce''. The controversial topic is not named, though Bok apparently wanted Bryce to write of it for his magazine. 1pp. on card-style stationery measures 5.25'' x 6.5''. Slight separation to verso fold; very good.
