Book with 48 lithographs, of which 25 in colour (including cover illustration). Up to 35.4 x 26.2 cm. Édition "Verve" vol. X, no. 37/38, Paris 1960. With reproductions of drawings that Chagall created in 1958/59 in reference to biblical themes. Of the lithographs by Marc Chagall created additionally for the Verve issue, only 23 of the planned 26 lithographs (cf. Mourlot 278-280) were published in black beside the 24 colour lithographs. Édition Tériade, Paris 1960. The lithographs printed by Mourlot Frères, Paris. - The sheet margins faintly browned. The cover with traces of wear.
