Important Notice: Due to high levels of fraud in the buying of gold and related items, we have had to introduce the following measures for gold and jewellery items:
- The maximum payment by credit/debit card over the telephone is £500. We strongly recommend buyers use the brank transfer facility.
- Gold & jewellery items paid for by card over the telephone will not be shipped or released to couriers for at least 5 working days after payment has been made.
We trust that potential buyers understand why we have taken these precautions. and that by being vigilant we hope to reduce the instances of credit card fraud which affect not just auction houses, but also vendors, and the unsuspecting owners of fraudulently used credit cards.
Due to a recent rise in credit card fraud, particularly in respect of gold and jewellery lots, we are no longer able to accept payments by credit or debit cards for these items over the telephone. Card payments are still accepted at our saleroom in person, and for all other types of lots bought. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. Lacy Scott & Knight offer a fully tracked postage & packing service within mainland UK and ROI, For this auction all parcels are charged at £10 regardless of size or number of items. If purchasers require further cover, this is charged as follows; £500 - £4, £1000 - £8, £1500 - £12, £2500 - £20. Please give clear instructions when settling your account as to your shipping requirements including level of insurance cover so that we can process full payment and ship within 10 working days.
Please note that Lacy Scott & Knight DO NOT accept any liability for loss or damage, however caused. For large, high value parcels (over £2,500), fragile items or overseas shipping we STRONGLY RECOMMEND Mail Boxes Etc, tel. 01245 262 527 (email info@mbeessex.com); for larger items such as furniture Alban Shipping, tel.01582 493 099 (email info@albanshipping.co.uk). If you instruct an alternative courier to collect, this charges at £5 per parcel packed and no liability is accepted.

Bids - bid live at the-saleroom.com, telephone or email bids to fineart@lsk.co.uk (include your full contact details, lot number and bid amount). Our minimum acceptable bid is £5. We can arrange telephone bids with notice for lots with a minimum estimate of £300.
Condition of lots - We generally do not state condition in the lot description. Before bidding, please ensure that you are satisfied with the condition of the lots. Condition reports are available by email but please note that these are statements of opintion only and not fact.
P&P - Parcels can be sent fto a UK address or £10 regardless of size or number of lots. Further insurance options are available. For overseas, large or high value lots we recommend MailBoxes (info@mbemail.co.uk). If you choose an alternative courier we can pack for £5 per parcel.
