Condition:

The figure is in age-related condition. Partial manufacture flaws. The gilded décor and the dress of the female figure are minimal rubbed in places. The hat of the female figure shows small color losses. The figure with extensive old restorations. However, the figure is optically in appealing condition. The height measures 13.5 cm.

Frankenthaler Porcelain (est. 1755)

In 1755, Paul Hannong, a Strasbourg porcelain manufacturer, granted a privilege by the elector Karl Theodor to found a porcelain manufacture in Frankenthal. But already in 1799, the manufactory was closed with transfer of the electoral court to Munich. Many models of Frankenthal reached the porcelain manufacture of Nymphenburg after this time. A large number of forms were produced here around the time of the Fin de siècle. All objects are marked usually with the underglaze blue manufacture mark, as well as an incised and/or impressed model number. Unmarked products are exceptional. Especially Johann Wilhelm Lanz, Franz Conrad Linck and Johann Peter Melchior are regarded as the outstanding modelers of the factory. Products of the Frankenthaler manufacture can be found in the collections of the Berlin Kunstgewerbemuseum, the Bavarian National Museum, as well as the Großherzoglich-Hessische Porzellansammlung in Darmstadt. Zustand:

Die Figur ist in altersgemäßem Zustand. Stellenweise finden sich Manufakturmakel. Der Golddekor sowie die Säume des Kleides sind stellenweise minimal berieben. Der Hut der weiblichen Figur zeigt kleine Farbfehlstellen. Es zeigen sich flächendeckende alte Restaurierungen. Optisch ist die Figur jedoch in ansprechendem Zustand. Die Höhe misst 13,5 cm.

Frankenthaler Porzellan (gegr. 1755)

1755 erhielt der Straßburger Porzellanfabrikant Paul Hannong durch Kurfürst Karl Theodor das Privileg, auf dem Gebiet der Dragonerkaserne in Frankenthal eine Porzellanmanufaktur einzurichten. Doch bereits im Jahre 1799 wurde die Manufaktur, mit Verlegung des kurfürstlichen Hofes nach München, geschlossen. So gelangten nach dieser Zeit zahlreiche Modelle der Manufaktur nach Nymphenburg. Um die Zeit des Fin de Siècle wurden hier zahlreiche Formen nachproduziert. Die Objekte sind in der Regel alle mit einer Manufakturmarke und einem Ritzzeichen oder einer Pressmarke versehen. Ungemarkte Erzeugnisse sind die Ausnahme. Als Modelleure stechen hier besonders Johann Wilhelm Lanz, Franz Conrad Linck und Johann Peter Melchior hervor. Erzeugnisse der Fankenthaler Manufaktur finden sich unter anderem im Berliner Kunstgewerbemuseum, im Bayerischen Nationalmuseum sowie der Großherzoglich-Hessischen Porzellansammlung in Darmstadt.
