Dieter Roth (1930-1998)

Dieter Roth, also known as Diter Rot, was born as Karl-Dietrich Roth in 1930 in Hanover. In the 1960s, Roth first began to participate in happenings and Fluxus events. In the 1970s, he designed a variety of book objects, which are close to the Dada movement, especially Kurt Schwitters. Works by Roth are on display in important museum collections, including the Kunsthalle Hamburg, the Sprengelmuseum Hannover, as well as the Kunstmuseum and the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. (cko)
